Ethics Video Class (Fri. 1 May, 2015 1:15 pm - 3:45 pm)

New members of the San Francisco Association of REALTORS® are required to complete an orientation course on the Code of Ethics within 25 days of their acceptance as a REALTOR® member in accordance with the Association's bylaws. If a new member fails to take the course within the 25-day time frame, he or she will have their membership placed in inactive status until the requirement is filled.                             

The National Association of REALTORS® also requires continuing members to complete the NAR Code of Ethics course once every 4-year Quadrennial period. The current Quadrennial period is from January 1st, 2013 to December 31st, 2016.                                                                                                                     

The three-hour course is presented at the Association's headquarter offices every Friday afternoon at 1:15 p.m. The cost is free of charge for new members and $15 dollars for continuing members. SFARMLS Essentials (Thu. 7 May, 2015 9:00 am - 10:30 am)

The SFARMLS essentials class is one of two SFARMLS training classes being offered on the same day.

This class will cover the basics of navigating in SFARMLS. Topics will include:

  • property searching
  • listing data entry and management
  • profile editing, links and other resources

This essentials class will not cover auto-prospecting. The SFARMLS Power Features Class (at 10:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.) will cover auto-prospecting as well as other custom features. Please feel free to sign up for both classes. Please be advised that this class has a healthy pace and covers a lot of material, following along with your own laptop will be challenging. Embedded videos and online help will supplement your own notes.

This SFARMLS Power Features class is one of two SFARMLS training classes.

Topics to be discussed will include:

  • entering contacts and prospects
  • how to use the interactive maps

Please do not register for this class until you have taken the MLS Essentials class at 9:00am, which covers how to search for listings or how to enter a listing. Alternately, you may take both classes the same day; in this case, please register for both. Please be advised that this class has a healthy pace and covers a lot of material, following along with your own laptop will be challenging. Embedded videos and online help will supplement your own notes.

SFARMLS Statistics and Data (Thu. 7 May, 2015 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm)

The SFARMLS is now offering a special training class on the advanced topics of STATISTICS and DATA export. The class will cover the following topics:

  • advanced search strategies
  • using the MLS as an analytics engine
  • making use of the built-in exports
  • how to create your own advanced exports
  • manipulation of data once you have it extracted.

Training will focus on the 10k Interactive tool (InfoSparks). The class will also show you some tips and tricks using free image capture/snipping tools will be covered and some pointers for using Microsoft Excel (and Google Sheets).

Please note that you should have a functional understanding of how the MLS works (or have recently attended the SFARMLS Essentials class that covers how to navigate and search). Those skills will not be covered in this class and they will be required in order to get the most from this course.

TIC and Condo Conversion Basics (Thu. 21 May, 2015 11:30 am - 2:00 pm)

During our next Thursday Think Tank, Real Estate Attorney Andy Sirkin will share important information to help you when working with TIC and Condo Conversions in the City.

Memorial Day (office closed) (All day)

Memorial Day is a federal holiday for remembering the men and women who died while serving in the armed forces. The holiday, which is celebrated every year on the last Monday of May was formerly known as Decoration Day and originated after the American Civil War to commemorate the Union and Confederate soldiers who died in the war. By the 20th century, Memorial Day had been extended to honor all Americans who died while in the military service.
