Are you interested in improving your public speaking skills? Join us Monday's at the SFAR offices for the SFAR Toastmasters meeting. Guests are welcome to visit any of our weekly meetings at no charge.
Skill levels vary from practiced & confident speakers to those of a novice level, ready to conquer fears of public speaking. We thrive on a mutually supportive (and fun!) environment, which encourages improvement and grants opportunities we provide for prepared speeches, impromptu speaking and constructive evaluations.

Michael Mitcheom, President and Founder of Black Ink Insurance Services, Inc., has been involved in either real estate sales or the insurance industry for over 40 years.

After college Michael followed in his father’s footsteps as a Realtor.  He was later recruited by Homeowners Marketing Group, HMS, to design, develop and administer “Master Plan”, a national realtor training program.  Subsequently, HMS would tap Michael as Senior Executive Vice President where we was part of the leadership team that would vault HMS as the nations #1 E&O provider with an 80% market share.

 In 1996 Mitcheom left HMS to form Black Ink Insurance Services.  He recruited and assembled some of the best sales and administrative people in the Realtor E&O insurance sector.  The objective was to use their understanding of the insurance business to not sell insurance but rather help Realtors find and purchase the best coverage at the best price.  With Black Ink’s unique “Realtor First” philosophy we have been able to sustain and prosper in the market for the last 21 years with a client base of over 5,000 individual  real estate offices located in 33 states. 

RealTimeMLS & Prospecting (Thu. 6 Apr, 2017 9:00 am - 10:00 am)

Learn about the new RealTimeMLS platform for Agent to Agent communication and learn the ins and outs of prospect management with this critical 1 hour class. You will learn how to make use of RealTimeMLS to talk to Agents about listings that are coming on the market soon (and the difference between RTMLS and Coming Soon in SFARMLS). The 2nd half of the class will cover Contacts/Prospects, Manage Groups and Reverse Prospecting.

NOTE: This class contains information from the previous MLS Power Features class. While you will recognize some of that information in this course, the new section on RealTimeMLS is not to be missed.


SFARMLS Reciprocal Access (Thu. 6 Apr, 2017 10:00 am - 11:00 am)

Our all-new Reciprocal Access class will give you the details on accessing the other Bay Area MLSs, inputting data into those systems, and also where to do broad area searches (Quattro). We will help you understand where your listing data goes once entered and help you understand the differences between those systems and how best to both get help and help yourself when MLS staff is not available. If you work outside of the City, you'll want to check this out.

Ethics Video Class (Fri. 7 Apr, 2017 1:15 pm - 3:45 pm)

New members of the San Francisco Association of REALTORS® are required to complete an orientation course on the Code of Ethics within 25 days of their acceptance as a REALTOR® member in accordance with the Association's bylaws. If a new member fails to take the course within the 25-day time frame, he or she will have their membership placed on inactive status until the requirement is filled.                          

The National Association of REALTORS® also requires continuing members to complete the NAR Code of Ethics course once in every 2-year Biennial period. The current Biennial period is from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2018.                                                                                                                     

The two and a half hour DVD course is presented at the Association's headquarter offices every Friday afternoon at 1:15 p.m. The cost is $15 for all SFAR members. Payment is required at the time a reservation is made. Or, you may call (415) 431-8500, extension 1130. Please note that the $15 fee is non-refundable and non-transferable to future courses.  

Parking is available across the street at the Performing Arts Garage.
