In this challenging business situation we are all facing, the leadership of SFARMLS has been working on changes to MLS rules and functionality to ease the struggle. An obvious benefit to having Coming Soon in the MLS is that you can enter your listing, other Agents will see it, but it will not syndicate out. The problem with our existing Coming Soon functionality is that Listing Agents could not edit the On-Market Date after it is initially set. This is being changed.
Starting on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, and until further notice, the assigned Listing Agent (and Co-Listing Agent) on a listing can edit the On-Market Date and save the changes. This will allow you to push your listing out "immediately" by editing your Coming Soon listing and setting the On-Market Date to the current date. Please keep in mind that once your listing goes live, there is no way to put it back to Coming Soon. Until the crisis abates, we will not impose a limit to the length of time you choose or the number of times you edit the date. The MLS and Technology Committee will evaluate how and when to re-apply restrictions once the market begins to return to normal.
