Residents were awoken from their sleep in the early morning and had to flee the building immediately – so most left without any of their belongings, even their essentials. Of those displaced, 34 households are temporarily living in vacant units within TNDC’s portfolio and 4 households have moved in with family or friends. TNDC is working towards moving everyone to new permanent housing.
Our Opportunity to Help
Displaced tenants are in need of basic necessities as they resettle. Please consider donating any of the items below to the Welcome Home Project and we will ensure they are received by the tenants or fulfill other emergency requests. Note: All items should be new.
- Small appliances - Bedding - Adult men's and women's clothing (with tags) - Cleaning supplies (laundry detergent, all-purpose cleaning spray, and dish soap, etc.) - Personal hygiene items (shampoo, deodorant, soap, etc.) - Dishes, pots, and pans
Please also consider: - Donating unused gift cards (even a coffee shop gift card is appreciated!) - Donating directly to the Welcome Home Project. We will use every dollar to purchase the housewares, clothing and personal items which are needed most!
