SAN FRANCISCO, California -- The San Francisco Association of REALTORS® has recruited a well-connected cropped photo Mary Jung 1San Francisco political leader to manage its government relations program and political action committee.
The San Francisco Association of REALTORS® announced today that Mary Jung of San Francisco has been appointed as Director of Government and Community Relations. Jung currently serves as the Chair of the San Francisco Democratic Party and has been on the Democratic County Central Committee since 2000. She is also a member of the San Francisco Civil Service Commission, appointed by Mayor Gavin Newsom.
Since 2006, Jung managed local government partnerships for Pacific Gas and Electric Company, where she implemented $125 million in energy efficiency programs throughout the entire PG&E service territory.
"Mary Jung has been an integral part of the fabric of our community and brings a wealth of experience as a longtime public policy advisor, community volunteer, grassroots political organizer, and coalition builder," said Christine Dwiggins, President, of the San Francisco Association of REALTORS®. "Mary's understanding of the diverse needs of communities and her strong relationships with government and neighborhood leaders, gives her the right combination of skills to effectively solve problems and create innovative solutions," she said.
Jung worked for the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission as Executive Administrator from 2001 to 2006, and the San Francisco Mayor's Office of Community Development and Housing as Administration Manager from 1997 to 2001. She serves on the executive board of the California Democratic Party, and as a board member of the Asian Pacific Democratic Club, Pacific Asian American Women Bay Area Coalition, and San Francisco Hep B Free.
Jung stated, "I am excited to have this opportunity to build upon and expand the REALTORS® Association role in the community. I look forward to working collaboratively with our local, state and national elected officials, and with our members, to ensure that the robust housing market continues to grow and our voice is heard effectively at City Hall."
